Library tour of the Pomeranian Medical University Library

The Acqusition Department is situated on the first floor of the PMU library and consist of two sections: books and journals.

A staff of the Acquisition Department builds up collection of books and journals, databases and other electronic sources. They check the publishing market, cooperate with editors and suppliers of the medical literature and cooperate with the units of PMU. They also make an inventory of the library reserves.

Journals section

In the journals section librarians subscribe to the journals and work out received issues in the electronic library system Aleph. They supplement also information about reserves of the PMU library in the catalogues and all Polish databases.

Books section

In the books section librarians work out the books cooperating with National Universal Central Catalogue NUKAT and medical subject headings MeSH, using MARC 21 format.
